Sorting and Filter Options in Reporting

The Report Viewer lets you sort columns, add Filters, and set a Date Type and Date Range so you can focus on the records that matter. This article explains those options after you open a report.

Search and column filters on list screens such as Orders or Estimates work differently. For those lists, see Using Search and Filters.

Table of Contents

Important Information

  • Recent system changes may take time to appear in report data. The date dialog also shows this message.
  • Filters and the date control apply in both Table and Chart.
  • A report Filter applies when Field, Condition, and Value are complete. Report Filters do not use an Apply button.
  • Some reports include locked Filters that cannot be changed.
  • Date Type options vary by report. On Invoiced Orders Detail, Date Type includes Invoiced, Created, Built, and Closed.
  • In Table view, one column at a time drives the sort. The active column uses a distinct Sort icon.
  • Fields controls which columns appear. For more information, see Reporting Overview.
  • Wait until the report finishes loading before using Filters or the date control.

Frequently Asked Questions
