When using Loom to record videos, it is important to understand etiquette and available tools. By doing so, you will ensure you present clearly and effectively both internally and externally.
Selecting a Monitor
It is important to know how to select specific monitors and tabs to ensure you show team members and customers only what is important without any extraneous information.
Download the Loom desktop application for easiest use. This can be found within the app store.
Note: Although we recommend the Loom application, you may download the extension. To pin it to your taskbar, select the puzzle piece icon and then find Loom and select the pin icon.
1. Select the Loom application.
2. Select the top tab to select which tabs and windows will appear in the video. As a general rule, select Custom Size to enable the Whichever setting you used most recently will display as the tab name.
Note: For customer facing videos, do not use the camera and only show the necessary tabs.

Customer Facing Video Guidelines
When making videos for customer use, it is extremely important to be aware of what is being shown to the customer and how it is being presented.
As general rules:
- Only present the needed tab(s) and do not present any other tab(s). Do not present with unnecessary tabs visible.
- Show the customer their system only, not any test systems or personal information. Do not share a video from another customer's system. Even if the customer has an identical problem, always record a new video using their system.
- Always give the Loom video a Title that properly demonstrates what the video will include.
- When sending a customer a URL to a video, use CTRL+K or the link icon to insert the link in a professional format while using the Title as the "Text to display."
