Using Documents

Documents are used to relay information to the customer regarding various transactions such as Estimates, Orders, and Invoices.

In CoreBridge EVO, you can open documents from an open Estimate or Order record.

Open Documents From an Estimate or Order


1. Navigate to Sales / Estimates or Sales / Orders, then open the Estimate or Order you want to work with.

2. On the record header toolbar, click the document icon (the file icon next to the comments icon). This opens a menu of available documents for that record.

3. Click the document you want to open (for example, Invoice or Work Order). The document opens in a new browser tab so you can keep the Estimate or Order open in the original tab.

4. If you do not see the document you need in the short list, click See more to view additional document types. If a document type is still missing, an administrator may need to add or enable it in Settings / Documents.

Note: In legacy CoreBridge, this control was described as a PDF icon. In EVO, the same action is the document (file) icon on the Estimate or Order toolbar.



Work With the Document Viewer


The document viewer shows a title such as the record number and document name, a preview area, and controls along the top. The exact options under Options depend on the document type you opened.

a. Document details — Use Selected Document to see which document type you opened. Use the second dropdown (for example, the Order or Estimate identifier) to switch which record the preview is based on when your permissions allow it.

Note: You cannot change the selected document type from this screen; choose a different type from the document menu on the Estimate or Order if you need a different document.

b. Options — Document-specific checkboxes and fields (such as Show Details on an invoice) update the preview when you change them.

c. Refresh — Click Refresh to reload the preview.

d. Print — Click the print icon to print the document.

e. Email — Click the envelope icon to email the document.

f. Download — Click the download icon to download the document.

g. Close — Click Close to close the document tab. Closing the tab does not close the Estimate or Order you were working from.



Note: Your employee role and permissions control which documents appear in the menu and which actions you can use (for example, print or email).
