Using @Mentions to Notify Coworkers in Chat

You can notify coworkers inside CoreBridge by typing @ in Chat, similar to mentioning someone in Outlook. The mentioned employee (or team/role) is selected from a list and receives an in-app notification.

Where to use @mentions

@mentions are available in chat areas on records such as Estimates and Orders. This article uses Order Chat as the example; the same @ shortcut works in other chat areas that use the same composer.

How to @mention someone on an Order

  1. Open the Estimate or Order.
  2. Select the Order Notes & Chat tab (labeled Estimate Notes & Chat on estimates). See callout 1 below.
  3. Under Order Chat, click + Chat. See callout 2 below.
  4. In the message body, type @. A list of Employees, Teams, and Roles appears. See callouts 1–2 in the second screenshot.
  5. Select the person, team, or role you want to notify.
  6. Finish your message and click Save. See callout 3 in the second screenshot.

Figure 1 — On the order, open Order Notes & Chat (1), then click + Chat (2).

Figure 2 — Type @ in the message (1) to open the Employees / Teams / Roles picker (2), then click Save (3) when your message is ready.

Note: Mentions notify the selected coworker through CoreBridge notifications. You do not need to use an Outlook-style email address link — choose the employee name from the @ list.

Other ways to notify coworkers

To send a message that is not tied to a specific order or estimate, use My Profile / Messages & Notifications. Compose a message and start typing the recipient’s name to select them from your employee list.
