This article explains how to use the Tax Liability Summary report when you need sales tax broken out by individual tax item or authority (for example, separate county lines such as Cobb and Fulton), instead of one combined tax group line.
Overview
CoreBridge EVO includes two related tax liability reports under Reports / Financial / Tax Liability:
- Tax Liability Detail lists invoice-level activity and often shows the full online tax group name as one combined string (state + county + city agencies together).
- Tax Liability Summary breaks tax amounts down by individual Tax Item / tax authority so each agency can be reviewed separately for filing.
If your accountant needs counties listed separately, run Tax Liability Summary for the same period rather than relying only on Tax Liability Detail.
How to Run Tax Liability Summary
Navigate to Reports.
1. In Report Search, open the Financial category (or type Tax Liability in the search box).
2. Under Tax Liability, select Summary (not Detail).
3. Set the date filter for the filing period you need (for example, last month or a custom invoiced / GL activity range).
4. Review the results. Each tax item / authority appears on its own line so county and city amounts can be totaled separately.
Note: Tax Liability Detail remains useful when you need invoice-level drill-down. Use Summary when the goal is agency-level totals for sales tax returns.
FAQ
1. Why does Tax Liability Detail show Cobb and Fulton in one long tax group name?
Answer: Online tax lookup builds a tax group that includes every authority that applies to the destination. Detail reports that group as one combined label. Summary separates those authorities into individual tax items.
2. Can I still export the data for my CPA?
Answer: Yes. Run Tax Liability Summary for the period, then export or print from the report tools the same way you would for other EVO reports.
