Line Item Note History

Line Item Notes in EVO keep the current note text editable in each note channel (for example Design, Sales, or Production). History is a separate, on-demand audit trail of who changed a note and when.

Notes vs History

  • Notes - The live text you edit and save on the Line Item. This is the current working note.
  • History - The audit list of earlier note values with the user and timestamp for each change. Open it with the History control on the Notes tab. History does not replace the editable note box.

What the History tip means

The tip next to History explains limits that apply to the audit history, not to the current note text:

  • Note history is not copied when cloning - When you clone a Line Item, the current note content can come along with the clone, but the History audit entries do not. The clone starts without the prior change log.
  • Entries older than 6 months are deleted automatically - History audit entries older than 6 months are removed. The current saved note text on the Line Item is not deleted by that cleanup.

Why History is separate

Keeping History separate lets the Notes tab stay a working editor while still giving shops an accountability trail when someone edits or clears a note. History loads only when you open it, so everyday note editing stays fast.

Retention

History is kept for 6 months by design. Longer retention is not available in the product today. The current note text itself remains on the Line Item until someone changes or clears it.
